Pontiac – Inaugural Cup Winner at New Hampshire, 1993

07/30/2020 – With the upcoming Cup race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Loudon, Pontiac fans can always point out that the Red Dart was the first Cup marque in Victory Lane there courtesy of Rusty Wallace in the Penske #2 Miller Genuine Draft Grand Prix.  Starting a distant 33rd, Wallace wound up making his way to the front by lap 168 and led 106 of the last 132 laps to take the win ahead of Mark Martin in the #6 Roush Valvoline Ford Thunderbird; Kyle Petty finished 8th in the Sabates #42 Mello Yello Grand Prix to place two Pontiacs in the top-10 on the day.
